Description of Department

Here in Toddlers, we pride ourselves on providing a high standard of care for children while in a safe and secure environment. We offer our children opportunities to explore their environment whilst learning through play. Focused activities are planned for each age group within toddlers as well as offering children to choose for themselves.

We provide a range of various activities which link to and cover all aspects of the EYFS. These are activities based around:

  • Stories, Songs & Rhymes
  • Imaginative & Role Play
  • Messy & Creative Play
  • Shape, Space & Number
  • Constructive Play
  • Interactive Games & Technology
  • Literacy Activities
  • Focused Story Sessions
  • Themed Music & Movement
  • Outdoor Play

We offer a high standard of parent partnership through providing daily feedback with the use of care logs. In these we can record children’s food, sleep and toileting routine as well as activities they have taking part in during their session. We incorporate positive parent relationships with the use of a white board where parents can feel free to write any comments or requests for the team to read and implement.

As of January 2014, children within the older groups in the Toddler department will be given the chance to take part in week planned activities 'Nature Play Experience'. During this, children leave the site and venture to the local park to explore their natural environment and aspects based around the environment such as:

  • Seasons
  • Weather
  • Growth & Decay
  • Animals & Wildlife
  • Personal Safety
  • Planting
