History

Oakengates Nursery School & Children’s Centre is situated in the heart of the community and forms part of ‘The Place’. The building houses the centre, a Theatre, library, learning zone and gallery. The children are given a wealth of opportunities to experience these facilities and to explore their community as well as their wider world first hand.

The centre is managed by a senior management team (Executive Headteacher, EYFS Lead and Daycare Manager) and by a panel of school governors in order to provide the highest standard of services to children and families from the local community.

We work in a totally integrated environment and provide quality continuous care for children from 3 months to school entry age, we offer a before and after school club during term-time. A Holiday Club service is also available during half-term for children from pre-school to primary school age.

Here at Oakengates Nursery School & Children’s Centre we believe that we are about children and for children. Our families are very important to us and we work closely together to ensure that we provide the highest standards of care and education for every child.

In April 2016 we federated with Wrockwardine Wood Infant School & Nursery.

We now have a Federated Governing Board, Headteacher and School Business Manager. Please see the Federation page for more information.
